How To Prevent Worms In Dogs

Pets : Dogs

Unfortunately as well as fleas, another common problem for your pet pooch can occur in the form of worms.

Worms can come in several different types that commonly affect dogs and can cause all sorts of unpleasant illnesses in pets, commonly things like vomiting. Not nice for your pet or your home!

First, ensure that you get the pet tested for worms after a few weeks. This is a useful way to get rid of immediate worms that may have taken hold in the newborn dog.

An annual check from the vet is also necessary, and get some ideas as to products that will help fight worms

It sounds horrible, but your dog may sometimes eat faeces and this is a very common way that things like worms are spread - therefore ensure that this never happens!

Finally combine with good control for fleas as these can spread certain worms, commonly tapeworms.

If your worried about worms in puppies then it is best to worm the mother dog before the puppies are born as she can pass this on via the blood doing this you wont have to worry about the worms until the puppies are at least 2 week, there is no point testing the pups because by the time you get your results they could become quiet poorly
