How To Protect Your Feet In Athletics

Sport : Athletics

It might sound strange, but from time to time you should consider running barefoot.

The reason for this is that it actually helps some useful muscles in your foot to develop.

The thinking is this - the modern athletics shoe is really good, has lots of comfort and support. In fact it is too good in the sense that it means that some aspects of your foot don't really need to develop to do well.

Therefore to compensate for this, you should run barefoot once a week or so. The key is to ensure that you don't do it too much, as of course there is less cushioning on the foot this way. Also make absolutely sure that the track is clear when doing this - any loose studs on the track would be extremely painful to run onto!
