How To Prove Sulphuric Acid To Be A Dehydrating Agent?

Education : Chemistry

Ok, so sulphric acid is one of the dehydrating agents. put 6ml of water and 6ml of concentrated sulphric acid in a beaker and then put these inside a big jar where u think they would be safe enough for even light to not get through. you have to close the lid very very tightly.
then, place it in a cool/dry place. after 24 or 48 hours, view what has happened.
the result you will get is that sulphric acid's volume increases and the water's volume decrases.
this shows that suplhric acid is a dehydrating agent. so be careful when you are using sulphric acid in a lab, because it might drop onto ur skin and soak water frm ur skin cells---ur skin is porous.
