How To Put Interviewees At Ease

Business : Running Your Business

When running your business, from time to time you will need to recruit new staff. Of course you want the best person for the job, but sadly nerves often put great candidates off from doing their best at the interview.

One way that you can try to stop this happening and letting more nervous candidates shine is to make the situation a little less intimidating and interview like. This is simply achieved.

Normally an interview takes place across a desk, with both parties looking square at each other, this is actually quite a direct and intimidating way to sit.

Therefore disarm the situation by sitting at right angles to the interviewee. You may be very surprised, but this changes the situation completely and the candidate is much more likely to relax.

A simple tip, but extremely powerful.
