How To Put Pastry On A Pie

Food And Drink : Desserts

For all those budding chefs out there, at some stage you will have needed to put pastry over a pie.

But have you done it right or do you get problems at the edges leading to burnt bits and it not sealing right?

Here's a tip from reader Freda on what to do to ensure that the pie is just right:

WHEN PUTTING PASTRY OVER A MEAT PIE [PRIOR TO COOKING), JUST PLACE THE PASTRY OVER LOOSELY WITHOUT SEALING THE EDGES. THIS WAY, STEAM IS NOT TRAPPED INSIDE AND THE PASTRY IS CRISPLY COOKED INSIDE AND OUT!
