The cardinal sin is to complain about your partner's physical appearance or attributes, compared to your friends, family or those you see on TV and celebrities. Telling your girlfriend she has massive thighs compared to the models and maybe she should lose some weight is not going to go down too well! Also be sure not to talk about your ex's and previous relationships. Certainly don't do so with a glint in your eye if you are asked or used the discussion to points score about things that your previous partner did or what they were like, as this can lead to resentment in your new partner. Finally, no little lies - they soon mount up. Don't say you are rich when you are not and then live off the debt - it will catch up with you in the end. Also don't say you have a job in the city as a banker if it's a lie - just be honest and tell your partner who you really are and they can learn to love you or not based on the truth.
