How To Relax

Miscellaneous

When you're facing something painful or daunting, such as a trip to the dentist or an injection, the most simple but easy to forget trick is to breathe. Take long breaths through your nose, then let them out through your mouth. Simultaneously closing your eyes and visualising a pleasant scene such as a beach or a woodland glade also helps.

If you want to relax more fully, sit back in a chair and concentrate on each part of your body. Let your toes and feet go limp, then your hands and arms and slowly work through until you feel every part of your body relax and loosen up. It only takes a few minutes with practice and really helps.
