If you need to remove ball point pen stain on shirts etc, dab a little bit of nail varnish remover containing acetone onto the area and the stain will lift off!!

Big black ball point pen stain on blue jeans. I tried nail polish, WD40, GoofOff and rubbing alcohol. Nada, zip, zilch, naught, nothing, nyet.
Tried Carburetor and Choke Cleaner by Pyroil from NAPA or Autozone. Immediately washed in cold water alone in washing machine. Most gone in one try. Repeated application and rewashed and bingo. Not a hint of stain.

You can also use hair spray.
