If that term means nothing to you, then basically what an emulsifier does is to take the oils off the surface of the face, and therefore all the dirt and rubbish that is trapped along with the oils. So the bottom line - if you have oily skin then you must ensure that you have an emulsifying cleanser for best results; spots will disappear over time or at least be less likely to occur!
