If you are looking to add some resistance to your jogging or running sessions, then there is one natural resource that is superb for this.

That is - running on sand! If you live anywhere near the coach or beach, then the sand is a free and ready made resource for resistance training.

As you will know if you have ever tried it, running on sand is much harder than on dry land, because of course the surface is not hard and gives way slightly under you.

This means that you need to burn more calories to cover the same distance, as you need to expend more energy.
