How To Save A CSV From Excel

Computing : Software

Many times it is useful to save data from Excel as a CSV - that is, a comma separated values list.

This is useful to import into many different tools. For instance, other databases, or upload to websites that will store your data.

For instance Froogle and Kelkoo like feeds to be updated either as comma separated or tab separated lists.

To save in this format is easy - when you click on save from excel, from the drop down list at the bottom simply choose '.csv' instead of '.xls' and that will do the trick. Easy!
