If you do five rows a week for instance, then the total cost of that over a year is ?1,825. That's an awful lot of money - enough to pay for a luxury holiday or the whole of Christmas and the presents! It's a sad fact that it is normally those that can least afford to do so that play the lottery. The odds are appalling too, and since you are so unlikely to win it is actually a very bad bet to make. There are much savvier bets out there with a much greater chance of return. For instance, even doing 5 rows a week, for a year, you would have to play on average for almost 8,000 years to win the lottery!!! So unless you have immortality pills in your back pocket, you can see it's not a very solid bet.
