Selling Home: Appoint A Solicitor

Money : Property

We have discussed in these 'Selling home' articles how to save thousands selling your home, by avoiding using an estate agent. This can also extend to the legal proceedings with a house, and indeed more and more people are doing the legal side themselves these days.

However unless you are confident what you are doing there is greater risk at this stage, and therefore for most it is still better to appoint a solicitor.

Therefore at the stage of acceptance procedures through to completion, you should appoint a solicitor to give you peace of mind.

You should try to retain control as much as possible during this process, and remember that if you leave things to the solicitor it can be a recipe for disaster! Some are better than others and with many you will need to chase them from time to time to get things done and speed up the process.
