The key is to set up rules early doors and stick to them. This means ensuring that your family do NOT come and disturb you when working (unless an emergency etc) and respect the separation between work and home. Tell them to imagine that you are actually in a different building and not in your home office. Similarly at the end of the day you need to respect the same boundary, and imagine that your work room does not exist - no temptation to go back and just do a few more minutes! It can be difficult, but if you keep disciplined from the start you can enjoy the benefits of home working with none of the cons.
