How To Sleep On A Hot Night

Health And Fitness : Hot Weather Tips

On a really hot night without air conditioning (which is most homes) then it can be hard to get to sleep. What can you do to help you sleep?

The first thing to do is:

Keep the curtains closed in the day to stop direct sunlight coming in the room and heating it like a greenhouse

Have all windows wide open, and leave them open in the bedroom at night (assuming this is not a security risk e.g. if you sleep on the ground floor)

Consider purchasing a fan and leaving it on overnight: important, try to test it first as some fans are so noisy that they will stop you sleeping!

Sleep on your back, as this feels much cooler than sleeping on your front. Also sleep in a star position, with legs and arms spread out to cool you down, and of course dispense with the duvet or the sheet.
