How To Solve A Simple Equation - IV

Education : Maths

If the equation has brackets in it, then you must always multiply them out first with a simple equation:

e.g.
4(a + 8) = 24

Step 1: multiply out:
4a + 32 = 24

Step 2: re-arrange
4a = -8 (take 32 off each side)

Step 3: a = -2 (divide both sides by 4)
