Therefore what you should aim to do is to concentrate on the headlines of articles and also on the first lines. The reason for this is simple: virtually all of the key information in an article is in this part. Why? Because newspaper articles are written differently to essays. Whilst an essay may work from start through to conclusion adding more information all the time, the newspaper articles reverses this. It tends to start with the conclusion or main point, and then later paragraphs develop to support this. This means you get all that you really need to know right at the start of the article.
