How To Speed Up The Start Menu In XP

Computing : Operating Systems

When using the start menu in XP you may be frustrated by several things.

One is that it takes a while to display, another that when you go over sub items, it takes a while to display.

To stop the delay when moving from levels of menu to another, simply left click with the mouse to display the sub menu straight away.

To make the whole display of the Start menu a bit quicker disable the shadow effect by default.

Right click desktop --> properties --> appearance --> effects --> uncheck 'show shadows under menus'
