How To Stand Up To Others
Self Development : Confidence At some time in their life, it is estimated that over half the population will experience some form of bullying, however mild, where someone else tries to walk all over them - and often succeeds. So what can you do to stop this trend if it happens to you? Well, you can read and read and think and think, and feel resentment and hurt. This achieves little. It is action and action alone that can save the day for you in these situations. The way to stop it is to stand up to others. But how do you do that? Well, best way is to rehearse in advance the exact conversation you want to have with the person. To tell them what you think and that you're not standing for it anymore. Visualise it in your minds eye a few times - note how good and relieved you feel once you have dealt with the issue. The final step is to use that mental muscle that you just built up to deliver it for real. Imagine it is the exact conversation you rehearsed before, and you will find that you are able to resist the bully from now on.
