How To Stay Safe On A Train
Self Development : Self Defence The worst thing you can do on a train is to be in a carriage that is empty, as this will offer no help or protection should a situation develop and is also more likely to result in you being isolated and potentially attacked. Therefore on a quiet train, walk through carriages until you find one with some other people in. If virtually deserted, settle for a carriage with just one or two people in - any is better than none - or sit near the guard. Also note that if you enter a carriage and then realise it has some potentially dangerous people there - for instance some drunks or someone, or a group, that are loud and abusive, then don't feel embarrassed about standing up and moving carriage.
