How To Stop A Web Page Being Indexed

Computing : Web Sites

Sometimes you will want a web page not to be indexed by the search engines.

To do this is easy: simply set the robots meta tag for the one web page to 'noindex'.

Of course if you have many pages or directories that you want to disallow access to, then it will be more expedient to instead use a robots.txt file to control access to your file - and even allow some robots to visit your site whilst blocking others in the process.
