How To Stop Hair Breakages

Beauty : Haircare

Never use elastic bands to tie your hair back. Always use special ponytail bands and scrunchies. Try and vary how you tie your hair up too, as even these bands can encourage jair breakages if used frequently, so use clips and headbands as well.

Never sleep with your hair tied up or in a braid. If you do want to use the method of braiding your hair when wet to get waves once it is dry, don't do it overnight.

Don't use a brush on your hair when it is wet either - it should be at least 90% dry before brushing. Instead, use your fingers or a comb to de-tangle! If you have long hair, then using your fingers might actually be easier. If you use a comb, don't be too harsh and drag it through the knots or tangles, use the teeth to pick the knot out.

Try not to overdry your hair as well with the hair dryer, as excess exposure to heat will damage your hair and make it very dry and frizzy and so prone to breaking. If you use straighteners or other heated styling appliances, then you might want to reduce the use, or if this is not feasible, invest in a spray that protects your hair against heat.
