How To Stop Students Misbehaving

Education : Teaching

Many teachers find it quite hard to get respect and command the attention of their class.

This is, of course, more and more of a problem in the modern world where sadly less children come from a home that instils discipline in them.

One method to try is to speak very quietly when someone does something wrong. Many teachers shout out loud at a student who misbehaves, but this can replicate the familiar scene of getting in trouble at home.

If you speak very quietly when someone is in trouble it's not very usual - in fact it can be quite strange - and therefore disconcerting.

It has been shown that speaking very quietly when annoyed with a student can be more effective than shouting at them.
