How To Structure A Topic Based Website

Computing : Website Topics And Subjects

If your website is based on a particular topic, then you need to get some structure.

This is essential both for you to keep track of what you have and haven't done, what areas you have written about and which you have still to write about, but also it is important for the most important people - the visitors to your site.

What you want to do is breakdown the topic into its logical sub-components or sub-topics.

Then what you can do with these is split your homepage so as it has a small paragraph on each major sub-topic on the homepage, and the left hand navigation reflects this.

The user can then drill down to reach the sub-topic of interest to them, and navigate away from there.

Of course a search engine is also useful if possible.
