How To Succeed If A Perfectionist

Career : Career Techniques

If you are a perfectionist then you might have a shock when you enter the world of work!

Whilst in academic pursuits such as education being a perfectionist can be great and end up with excellent marks, in the world of work it is likely to lead to stress.

Why?

Due to the fast paced of delivery, perfection necessarily takes longer than just getting the job done to a high standard.

You are likely to struggle, under-achieve and feel pressure if you stick to absolute profession in your professional life and also of course it is harder to obtain due to dependencies on others and many things that are outside your domain of control.

Therefore you need to give up on your standards a little. By all means of course still aim to deliver for a high standard, but don't be disappointed if absolute perfection in all that you do is not possible.
