How To Swim Safely
Sport : Swimming If you are swimming yourself, or supervising a group of swimmers, then you should always play in safe and swim in a pool or supervised area. Never risk taking yourself or others into unfamiliar territory - for instance a local lake or pool. These can contain unforeseen and dangerous hazards, and if there is no one to help then it is just not worth the risk. Therefore always stick to fully supervised and known areas for swimming - you can still have great fun and challenge yourself, so really there is no reason to take the risk to do anything else, especially as a result of a dare. Note also that if you get really fatigued whilst swimming, the best thing to do is stop. It is dangerous to push yourself when you are too tired. We all have off days swimming, remember, and you might have a mild cold which is dragging your performance down a little. Far better to stop before reaching your target and rest up than get too fatigued and put yourself in potential danger in the water.
