Symmetric Keys Explained

Games : Codes And Ciphers

A symmetric key or cipher is when the one key is used to encipher and to decipher a code.

Thus if you have the cipher
FLIBBLE

having used the WARDDAS to encrypt the plain text, then WARDDAS is the key. Now with a symmetric key you use the same key to encipher and decipher, so possession of that key enables anyone to encipher or decipher any message.
