So what's the point or purpose of lip liner - what's so good about applying it!? Well, basically lip liner can be used to help really give a nice shape and outline, called 'definition' to the lips. It can also stop and safeguard the lipstick from spreading out onto the skin around lips which of course looks awful and is a big no-no.
