The Difference Between A Full And Limited Car Warranty

Hobbies : Cars And Motoring

In different countries what is entailed by a full or limited car warranty may differ slightly.

In general however with a full warranty, the following will be true:

- anyone owning the car during warranty period will be covered by the warranty service

- the service is free of charge

- the dealer will replace or fully refund if the vehicle cannot be repaired

- all you must do is notify the dealer when service is needed (no special preconditions to receive the warranty service)

In contrast, if not all of these are present then it is likely that it is a limited warranty.

Note however that either type of warranty does not necessarily cover the entire vehicle but may only affect certain aspects.

Therefore be sure to ask all questions up front clearly before signing up so you understand the real nature of the warranty.
