The Two Secrets Of Sustained Weight Loss

Health And Fitness : Weight Loss

The biggest myth is that we are all getting larger due to the calories that we take in.

Research has suggested that the total calories we take in has not gone up much in the last 100 years, contrary to popular belief.

People forget there are two sides to the equation:

How much we have depends on how much we take in AND how much we use up.

And therein lies the key - most weight gain these days is due to the fact that we burn less off. We walk less, we take exercise less as a race, and generally consider ourselves much more 'time poor' than past generations.

There are two key secrets of sustained weight loss.

One is to build regular exercise into your weekly program - three times a week for half an hour at a time.

The second is to undertake this exercise program with a change in diet, rather than a reduction. Always try to eat healthily - fresh vegetables instead of chips accompanying your chicken or fish, for instance.

Many people think that dieting means going without, but in fact it doesn't. Going without can not only be dangerous but is also very hard to maintain. Therefore do not make sacrifices.

Diet smarter, not harder, to borrow a phrase from business!
