Time Travellers - Where Are They?

Philosophy : Thought Experiments

One very simple question, perhaps not a fully fledged thought experiment, is with regards time travel.

Many people hold that it is possible, and can imagine a world where people can travel from the future to the past. The theoretical debates are very complex and therefore not accessible to most.

But the thought experiment is simple - OK, let's imagine that world. This begs the question "where are the time travellers, then?"... if it's possible, why aren't we aware of people visiting us from the future?

This is similar to Fermi's paradox with regards extra-terrestrial life - if they are out there, how come no-one seems to have come to visit?
