Here are a few assorted tips for those running a marathon - brave or mad enough to run a marathon that should be!

Remember that you should get lots of rest as well as all the training, this is essential to help your body repair itself and heal between strenuous runs and stop injuries exhibiting themselves.

Remember that you should increase distance steadily whilst practicing, don't just go from about 2 miles to 10 miles in one go!

Rather use steady increases and over the course of a week for instance don't go up more than about 10%, so if you start at 3 miles then move to 3.3 miles, and so on.

Always use good quality footwear, as soon as you see a problem then move onto a new pair!
