Tips On Sending A Press Release By Email

If you decide to send a press release by email - and this is often the best way to get in touch, for instance, with online publications, then here are a couple of guidelines:

- Keep it as a plain text email, don't go for HTML formatting as this can screw up and look amateur

- Do not attach the press release as a word document or PDF but have it as the body text. People are very suspicious of attachments in emails and it is likely it will just get binned

- Keep it short so don't start attaching photos of you and your new business just because it is easy to drag and drop into an email

- Have a very clear subject line that explains this is a press release and the topic.
