The fact is that the average bra will stretch by a couple of inches through being worn and being washed. This means that what you should actually do when trying it on is to try it on the loosest hook and see if it fits well, because it will soon stretch to this after wear and tear, so check it fits well on that setting. Remember therefore that if the best fit is only achieved on the tightest hook that it may be hard to retain that level of comfort and shape for the first few wears of the bra.
