How To Understand The Effect Of A Plan

Education : English

You may wonder what all the fuss is about in an exam of making a plan. Why not just write and write quickly to get everything down?

Well often less is more. Planning is essential to ensure that you have a good logical structure to your writing and that you do not miss out any of your key points.

Planning need not take a long time, but you should realise it helps thus:

- staying on the point and not going off topic (a sure way to get no marks)

- keeps the work well structured and the points in good order

- keeps track of time: once you start writing you can see how far from the end of the plan you are and hence readily gauge how much more time you need.

Note: you need to stick to the plan, but if a really good idea suddenly comes to you, then by all means try to incorporate that.
