You might have heard of the Glycemic Index, but be unsure as to exactly what it is.

Well, the Glycemic Index is simply this:
a measure of how quickly carbohydrate foods are digested and absored by our bodies.

From the above, each food that is defined as being a carb is ranked, according to how much they affect blood sugar levels (increase in glucose).
