Understand Your Finances: Stop Leaks!

Self Development : Money

It is amazing how small sums of money that might seem small on a daily or monthly basis can add up over the course of the year.

Therefore if you spend more than you should over the course of a year by something like $1000 then remember the fact that the sum of just $3 a day will make you spend $1095 a year extra!

Therefore you should ensure that you check your small daily expenses because they soon mount up.

If you always buy luxury sandwiches for instance, then why not get decent quality but cheaper ones, or better still make them yourself at home for a fraction of the price.

Another good place to check is your shopping bill. When you do the weekly shop, do you tend to buy too much food that you don't eat? It is a real eye opener how many people end up throwing away several dollars of food away at the end of the week that they haven't eaten.

Therefore ensure that you only buy what you think you will eat. Just this discipline alone can save you several dollars a week - and as we've seen that all adds up over the course of the year.
