Understanding People At Work: Contenders

Career : Your Career Values

Contenders are the third of the four main categories of people at work, as described in this section.

A contender is someone who is at times quite pushy in trying to get what they want.

Typically they may well pursue you when they want you to do something for them, but when the shoe is on the other foot, they may be difficult to get in touch with or just uninterested in you and achieving your goals.

Because they are quite self and inward focussed if you are a team player you will find this sort of person quite frustrating to work with.
