Understanding Types Of Horse
| Miscellaneous If you read the form for horses, you will see certain abbreviations used to explain each of the 'types' of horse, as it were. These are as follows: c - colt (male under five) h - horse (male over five) g - gelding (castrated male) f - filly (female horse up til five) m - mare (female horse over five) So in this sense there are five 'types' of horse that you might see listed.
