How To Use A Ladder Safely
DIY : Decorating When you are using a ladder in or out of doors, you should always make sure that the feet are on an even surface, and if you are outside make sure it is not wet. If it is a folding ladder, it should be fully opened so that it is locked in position. There may well be safety warnings on the side, so you should read these and obey them as they will give directions for setting up the ladder properly in this way. As you climb the ladder, hold onto the sides - this means if you have to take tools up with you, you have to store them on your person, either in your back pocket or on a belt, but don't go up a ladder with your hands full. This is very dangerous and you could drop something, injuring anyone who is standing or walking by below. There should only be one person on a ladder at the same time so don't let anyone climb up after you. You should never go too high on a ladder, climb only to the height the ladder is designed for, otherwise you risk toppling over. Don't try and reach out too far either, as you may overbalance the ladder.
