How To Use A Population Pyramid

Education : Geography

Use the shape of a population pyramid to gain information about birth and death rates as well as life expectancy.

This can be worked out by seeing the bias: if it is a standard triangle shape there is low life expectancy and high birth rates.

If it is fairly constant, then the population is also.

The less pronounced the sloping to the top, the longer the expected life expectancy.
