The effects of color on our moods, health, and ways of thinking, have been studied by scientists for years.

Your preference of one color you chose over another, has something to do with the way that color makes you feel.

The color you choose for your surroundings can therefore effect changes in your body.

Red increases heart rate, brain wave activity and respiration. Those with poor coordination should avoid wearing red.
In addition those suffering from hypertension, should avoid rooms with red d?cor, which can cause their blood pressure to rise.

Pink has a soothing effect on the body. It can even relax the muscles. Pink has a tranquilizing effect on aggressive and violent people, it is often used in prisons, hospitals, and juvenile and drug centers. After fifteen minutes in a pink room, teenagers fell asleep. These teens were suffering from drug induced anxiety. Anybody suffering from withdrawal symptoms, or anxiety, would benefit from pink surroundings.

Orange is the color choice if you want to stimulate the appetite and reduce fatigue.
Use this color on your finicky eater, or a child who refuses to eat. Now this color should be avoided by the individual trying to lose weight.
Those feeling run down. This color can lift your energy level.

Green is the color of spring. Also new beginnings. This color has a soothing relaxing effect on the body, as well as the mind. Green is appealing to dieters.
Those feeling depressed can benefit from green surroundings. Also helps the aging.

Blue is good for relaxing. It has a calming effect . Also lowers blood pressure, heart rate, and respiration. It a hot humid environment blue has a cooling effect. Aggressive children, and those that throw tantrums, calm down in a blue painted room. Interestingly both the blind and the sighted children, react the same in blue surroundings.
