When selecting screws it is important to know witch type you need to do the job. If you are using timber based sheet materials i.e ( chip board, M.D.F ) you basically want to use a twin threaded screw, these are different to conventional screws in as much as they have a coarser thread and more thread to enable the screw to be driven in more quickly. When using screws it's a good idea to remember the screw should be 3 times the thickness of the material being used. ( This is an approximation ) Another very important thing to remember is to use the correct screw driver. Don't just grab any one, check the width of the blade against the slot of the screw, if they match then hey presto it's the correct one. I will post more information on the safe use of tools in the future, meanwhile I hope this has been of benefit to you.
