How To Use The Student Grant

Education : University

Whilst many people need to use the grant, some people are lucky enough not to need it - or at least all of it, whether because they have some money already, or a scholarship, or due to a parental contribution.

Consequently, many people squander a money making opportunity. If you don't need your student loan, then still take it. Lock it away in a high interest account (say around 4-5%) if you can, and then leave it there for the duration of your studies.

That way, when you have finished you will have made a substantial amount of money in interest - hundreds of pounds, of free money. This will more than counteract the nominal interest you may have to pay back on your student loan. Free money!
