Health And Fitness : Stretching There are a couple of warning signs during stretching that things are not going right and that you should stop. Amazingly, some people ignore these signs or symptoms and continue to stretch doing more harm than good in the process. You need to learn to know your own body and realise when you are feeling a good stretch and when that has turned to pain. If you ever feel that your muscle is actually hurting during a stretch then relax it immediately, as it means that you have pushed too hard. As long as you feel a muscle tighten during the stretch then you are doing it right and correctly - there is nothing gained by stretching further than you need to!
