How To Wash A Car

Hobbies : Cars And Motoring

When you wash your car, find a spot that is quite shaded and not beneath trees that will shed leaves onto it and so on. Always wash and rinse one side at a time and rinse completely, as soap can dry easily on the paintwork and this will just create extra work. Make sure all the doors and windows are properly closed to prevent the interior getting wet.

It is best to use proper car washing liquid in your water rather than anything else. Before you begin the actual washing, you might also want to hose the car down, just to get rid of any excess dirt.

Use a big sponge and soak it in the bucket of water with car washing liquid, then begin with the roof, soaping it then rinsing it with the hose. Do this on the front, back and two sides of the car, each time making sure to get rid of dirt on the wheels, radiators, bumpers and any other trim. Wash then rinse each side.

Use a different sponge or cloth for the tires though, otherwise you will transfer grease and dirt from wheels to car.

When you have finished washing each side, hose the car down one more time, covering all parts of it, then use a chamois leather to dry it and prevent water spots from forming, which is what occurs if you leave it to "air" dry.

Rub the metal or other trim thoroughly too until all water is absorbed.
