| Self Development : Green Living One of the single biggest drainers of water in your house hold is the dishwasher, second only to the washing machine. Yet many people are indifferent to this and run the dishwasher with very little in it. Rather you should only use the dishwasher for full loads so that the maximum effect is had by all the water, and so that also it is needed to be run less often. Note too that you should also try to wash up the old fashioned way from time to time - this will save masses of water filling a small bowl compared to all the water that is used by the dishwasher.
