Ways To Slash Household Bills

Money : Saving

Check you are paying the correct amount of council tax by entering your post code into the Council Tax Valuation site. This will tell you what band the other houses in your area are in. If you think you may be paying more than similar households then you may be able to appeal against this.

Always check your gas and electricity bills when you get them through and query them if you think there may be a mistake. Check your meter and take a reading yourself if possible.

Switch suppliers if you think you arent getting the best deal. Use comparison websites online to find out which ones offer the best rates.

It may even be worth installing a solar panel to generate your own electricity, or loft insulation and double glazing to keep warmth in during the winter months.

Switch to a cheaper broadband provider. They are updating deals constantly so check on a regular basis. You might be paying a lot more for an older and slower connection service.

If you have a spare room then rent it out for extra cash.
