The best strategy to weight loss is the simplest strategy.

- Make gradual adjustments to your diet

- Never view it as a diet only program. Rather add exercise into the mix

- Build up your exercise gradually over time

- Keep a healthy balance of food types and groups in your diet

- Always eat breakfast

- Eat little and often through the day rather than the standard three square meals

- Give yourself perks for meeting targets

- Cut out sauces and other additions to meals that add calories - for instance cut the mayonnaise out of your sandwiches
