| Travel : Gap Years Many people like the idea of a gap year - after many years at school and education, most of it forced, it can seem very attractive to have a year called a gap year. Many people think this means doing nothing, but in fact to make the most of a gap year you very definitely should use it to do something. Whilst for many that thing is travelling, it is not mandatory that you should travel a long way in your gap year! A gap year is simply time out from education or work, but for a PURPOSE - and that's the key, not a break for the sake of it, but to do something, typically this period of time in education is twelve months and typically it is taken before university.
